Position: .NET Web Application Developer

Primary Role:
The .NET Web Applications Developer is a key contributor to our corporate strategy of delivering information quickly, accurately, and in an inspiring way. This person is responsible for developing SQL server data-driven .NET web applications using documented W3C web standards and for developing databases and database applications in a knowledge management environment. The position requires a team player capable of meeting deadlines by completing projects with minimal supervision, while paying close attention to detail and accuracy.

Relationships:

  • Reports to: Web Development Manager
  • Key Contacts: Database Administrator, Application Developer(s), and Application Users

Responsibilities:

  1. Software development: Develop and provide on-going support for web-based applications to meet business requirements. Provide input on project direction and life cycle development.
  2. Help desk: Troubleshoot user-reported problems; coordinate activities of outside support help when required.
  3. Project Management: Provide day-to-day management of assigned projects. Prioritize and schedule tasks, track progress, and provide meaningful reports as required. Maintain accurate records of communications with internal and external contacts and change documentation.

  • Effective use of leading technology to meet business requirements

Job Specifications:

Education: Associate or Bachelor degree in Computer Sciences, or equivalent experience

Specific skills: Knowledge and experience in developing and supporting a web site on a Microsoft .NET/SQL platform using Microsoft infrastructure and tool set required. Solid understanding of object-oriented design and development. Strong knowledge of current web standards and best practices. Familiarity with ASP, ASP.NET, C# or VB.NET, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, T-SQL, and XML/XSL. Ability to support existing applications written in classic ASP, JavaScript, and/or XML. Adheres to coding standards as defined.
